Lucas brings a wealth of experience to the association. Locally Lucas has coached with DJHA 97AAA and 95AA, Plano West High School (JV), The Texas Attack (94). He also held the position as Director of Coaches and General Manager of the Dallas Hawks youth program and Junior A Hockey Club. He was also the Head Coach of their Peewee AA club. In the summer of 2007 Lucas helped guide Team Texas 96 to a Third place finish at the One Hockey International Tournament in Philadelphia.

Prior to coming to Dallas 5 years ago, Lucas was in a fulltime position with Hockey Canada as their Athletic Development Director in their Saskatchewan branch. In this position he worked intimately with World Under 17 World Championships.  Aside from his duties with Hockey Canada Lucas was a Regional Scout in the Western Hockey League (WHL) for the Moose Jaw Warriors where he remains a U.S liaison for the club. Lucas was also in his first season as a Co-Head Coach as the Regina Pat Canadians Midget AAA Hockey Club when he left for Dallas. This is Lucas' ninth season as a Head Coach at the youth hockey level. He has had the opportunity to coach at almost every age level from A to AAA as well as National and International competition. His experience in the game both on the ice and off is vast. His connection to AAA, Junior and College hockey has helped guide a lot of his former players up the hockey ladder. Aside from standing behind the bench and sitting in his chair in the Hockey Canada office Lucas has been involved in many development camps worldwide. Lucas has traveled and taught from Europe to Arizona and everywhere in between. He's instructed 4 year olds at Nike Skills Camps to blowing the whistle at the Peary Pearns 3 on 3 NHL Conditioning Leagues. Lucas looks forward to his new challenge with the Dallas Stars Selects. He is very excited with the outlook of both his teams. "I am very fortunate and thrilled to join the coaching staff of the DSS Program. We have a great group of coaches in place and a great environment to develop young men", states Coach Reid.
