Michael Young, the Head Coach of the Dallas Stars Elite Bantam Minor 96AAA and Squirt Major 99AAA teams will be the skills coach for the Dallas Stars Selects Squirt teams this coming season.  Michael will work with each DSS Squirt team twice each month to teach skills during their regularly schedule practice times.

Michael Young is from Sioux Lookout, Ontario, Canada. He is a full time coach for the Stars Elite program and also does private lessons.   He has been playing hockey his whole life and sees coaching as an opportunity to give back to a game he truly loves.

Experience & Qualifications:

Eight years of Head Instructing Experience in Canada.
Levels 1 and 2 Certification completed through Hockey Canada.
Levels 1, 2 and 3 Certification completed through USA Hockey.
Five years of junior hockey experience.
Drafted to the Western Hockey League.
Played 1 year at University of Manitoba (CIS) on full scholarship.
Selected and played for Canada's Under 17 program (Team Western).
Played three years professional hockey in the CHL.

Provide hockey knowledge and awareness of the game. Provide feedback for parents and players. Push and encourage kids to move beyond their comfort zone and strive to get to the "next" level. Provide not only a great hockey experience, but also provide life lessons that promote being a great person.
